Liposuction
Liposuction is a technique used to remove excess fat located in the stomach, back, love handles, saddlebags, thighs and inner knees. It was developed in the 1970s and is currently the leading cosmetic surgery procedure in the world.
This is a technique that improves the silhouette by reducing excess fat cells. If the weight is stable after this procedure, the previously aspirated deposits will not reform. The surgical technique is relatively simple, the introduction of cannulas under the skin allows the fat to be aspirated via several regular tunnels. This procedure allows the respect of the vascular-nervous structures and therefore of the skin plane.
The incisions made are of the order of 2 to 3 mm and are often hidden in a natural skin fold. More recently, the use of very sophisticated machines has allowed the removal of larger volumes of fat while respecting the curve of the treated areas. Vibroliposuction is one of these machines and has the advantages of reducing post-operative bleeding and improving the retraction of oily skin with a more homogeneous suction.
Liposculpture is also a liposuction technique, it uses cannulas of smaller diameter and allows the more localized removal of small amounts of fat without creating irregularities on the skin. The liposuction technique cannot be considered as the treatment against excess weight, even if unreasonable liposuctions are currently performed in some centers. This intervention can be performed under general, local or spinal anesthesia (a small injection in the back will be performed in this case).
Vibroliposuction is characterized by the use of specific cannulas that vibrate, reducing tissue trauma with very high efficiency on deformations of the saddlebags, which will be aspirated very homogeneously.
The surgical indication will be carefully discussed in consultation.
Liposuction of the chin or neck may be proposed in some cases of excess located in the submental region. The result will be influenced by the retraction of the skin. In some cases a lower face lift will improve the results.
The consultation
Your expectations and doubts will be clarified in complete peace during an interview regarding liposuction.
After this discussion, a detailed clinical analysis of the areas to be treated will allow you to have an idea of the possible results.
The consultation will continue in order to explain the evolution and the risks that could occur after this type of intervention. Remarks: a few lymphatic drainage sessions are beneficial before the liposuction intervention. They reduce post-operative edema and prepare the skin tissue.
